Storm Babet

Here's the latest info re Storm Babet from the Met Office.

"Based on the latest predictions, the main thrust of rainfall from ‘Babet’ will move northwards across the Northwest region during tomorrow evening and overnight into Thursday morning. In its wake further intermittent rain/showers, possibly heavy, can be expected during Thursday and overnight before a change to generally drier conditions by Friday. Yesterday’s yellow medium impacts rain warning has now been updated and is unchanged as far as the Northwest concerned, except for the start time which has been moved back to Thursday morning. This morning’s Flood Guidance Statement depicts a yellow area of concern map covering easternmost Cumbria, together with the Pennine fringes of Lancashire and Greater Manchester. Here rainfall totals may be sufficient to induce some river or surface water-based impacts. Winds will become brisk at times over the next few days."

We will be keeping a close eye on things, particularly the area around the Old Courthouse. If we have any concerns, we will let you know.
