Electricity North West - extra care

We are very lucky to have received a grant from ENWL to work with our community in encouraging them to sign up for their extra care register. You can do so by clicking on the link above. We will be continuing to promote this in advance of the autumn and winter months. The time to take action is now! Even if this doesn't apply to you - can you think of a relative, friend or neighbour who might benefit - please talk to them about it.

The Extra Care register is the new name for their priority services register, so if you've already signed up, don’t worry, you don’t need to do anything extra.

You're eligible to join the Extra Care register if you:

  • have reached your state pension age

  • are disabled or have a long-term medical condition

  • are recovering from an injury

  • have a hearing or sight condition

  • have a mental health condition

  • are pregnant or have young children

  • have extra communication needs (such as if you don’t speak or read English well)

  • need to use medical equipment that requires a power supply

  • have poor or no sense of smell

  • would struggle to answer the door or get help in an emergency.

You may still be able to register for other reasons if your situation isn’t listed - for example, if you need short-term support after a stay in hospital.

We continue to work on our plans for power outages and how we can support our community then. You can see our plan on this website if you're interested. If you might need help from us in such a situation or any other emergency, please do also think about registering as a householder with us at this link
