It has been great to see so much interaction on our Facebook pages this week. This is principally thanks to the time spent by our Board members who work tirelessly behind the scenes. We were lucky that we didn't have to call out our volunteers during the recent bad weather. All of this hard work however doesn't mean anything if your household isn't registered or we don't have enough volunteers available should the worst happen.

Please consider signing up with us. We need both volunteers and households to be registered with us to be effective. Our priority is always to help the most vulnerable that we know about but data protection means that we need individuals to register with us.

Volunteers we need you signed up in advance so that we can offer you training to keep you safe. If you know someone who might be interested in signing up as a volunteer - point them our way. If you know somebody who might need help during an emergency - spread the word about us and help them fill in a form if need be. Show them neighbourliness and that you care!

Forms can be downloaded from this website or are available throughout the town from Cockermouth Library, Allisons Chemists, Derwent Dental Care and Castlegate & Derwent Surgery.
